How to Pay with Bitcoin or USDT — A Beginner's Guide

New to crypto? No problem. There are three ways to pay — pick whichever works for you.

⚡️ Paying with USDT? Skip to Option B or Option C, since Option A only supports BTC.

Option A

Already Use Cash App? Pay with That

BTC Only · Fastest if Verified

If you already have a Cash App account with Bitcoin enabled, this can be the fastest option — no new account needed.

  1. Open Cash App, tap the Bitcoin tab
  2. If you haven't already, buy the amount of BTC you need — buy slightly more to cover network fees
  3. Tap Send Bitcoin, then enter or scan the wallet address from our checkout page
  4. Confirm and send

⚠️ Before you rely on this option, check:

  • This only works for BTC — if you're paying with USDT, use Option B or C instead
  • Cash App requires full identity verification before sending Bitcoin to an outside address — if you haven't done this yet, it may take as long as starting fresh with Option C

Option B

Buy Directly to Our Address via MoonPay/Transak

  1. Open the MoonPay or Transak app/website
  2. Choose to buy BTC or USDT
  3. When asked for a destination wallet address, paste in the address shown on our checkout page (instead of using a MoonPay/Transak-hosted wallet)
  4. Complete identity verification if it's your first purchase, then pay with card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or bank transfer
  5. The crypto is sent directly to our address once your purchase completes

💡 Heads up:

Since this is a new destination address for your account, MoonPay/Transak may show a short verification step or brief hold (sometimes up to 24-48 hours) before the transfer goes through — this is a standard anti-fraud check on their end, not an issue with your payment.

If you see a warning asking whether you know the recipient, it's safe to proceed since you're paying for your own order — just make sure the address matches exactly what's shown on our checkout page.

If your purchase is held or delayed, you can always switch to Option C below for a purchase you control end-to-end.

Option C

Buy Crypto Through an Exchange First

If you'd rather use crypto you already have, or the other options aren't available in your region, follow these steps.

🔑 Before You Start

If this is your first time buying crypto, do this before you go to checkout — most exchanges require identity verification that isn't instant.

  • You'll need: a government ID, and a debit card or bank account
  • Verification can take a few minutes to 1–3 business days depending on the platform
  • Don't wait until the last minute to start this process
1

Get a Crypto App

App Good for Notes
Coinbase Most beginners Supports both BTC and USDT, straightforward verification
Kraken Lower fees Slightly more setup steps

Download the app and sign up with your email.

2

Verify Your Identity

Required by U.S. law for all regulated crypto platforms.

  • Enter your legal name, address, and date of birth
  • Upload a photo of your driver's license or passport
  • Take a quick selfie if prompted
  • Wait for approval — usually instant to a few hours, sometimes up to 3 business days
3

Add a Payment Method

Link a debit card (funds available instantly) or bank account/ACH (usually cheaper, takes a few days to clear).

4

Buy BTC or USDT

  1. Tap Buy, select Bitcoin (BTC) or USDT — match what our checkout page asks for
  2. Enter the amount — buy slightly more than your order total to cover network fees
  3. Confirm the purchase
5

Get Your Order's Payment Details

On our checkout page, once you select crypto payment, you'll see a QR code, a wallet address, and the exact amount to send.

⚠️ This address is unique to your order. Don't reuse an old address.

6

Send the Payment

Option 1 — Scan the QR Code (easiest)

In your crypto app, tap Send, choose the same coin shown on checkout, scan the QR code, double-check the amount and address, confirm.

Option 2 — Copy/Paste the Address

Copy it from checkout, tap Send → paste, enter the exact amount. If paying in USDT, match the network (e.g., TRC20 or ERC20) shown on checkout — wrong network can cause the payment to be lost. Review, then confirm.

7

Wait for Confirmation

  • Keep the checkout page open — the page updates automatically once your payment is detected
  • BTC usually confirms within 10–30 minutes; USDT is often faster
  • You'll see a success message — no further action needed

🚫 Common Mistakes to Avoid

Sending the wrong amount — always send the exact amount shown
Sending USDT on the wrong network
Closing the checkout page before confirmation
Reusing an old payment address
Waiting until checkout to start identity verification (if using Option C)
